Getting Ready for your Online Lesson:

Have your instrument with you and preferably have it in tune and ready to go before we begin the online lesson as this will help you get the most out of your valuable lesson time. It is also a good idea to have any music scores, charts, or tablature at the ready for the songs and pieces you are currently working on in your music lessons.

Practice:

It is always advisable when learning any musical instrument to try and practice at least around 30 minutes per day, hopefully six days per week to make sure you are making progress on your instrument and getting as much fun and enjoyment out of your music as possible. Feel free to divide up your practice time into various session lengths that suit your schedule; even 5 or 10 minutes here and there throughout the day is better than no practice at all. And you will see benefits from even 10 minute practice sessions that are focused.

And by all means, if you feel like playing for one hour straight in a row, that is terrific and you will make a lot of progress by such diligent work, although if you wish to play longer than that, it is always a good idea to get up and stretch or walk around a bit before trying to play for say two hours in a row. This will help give your mind a chance to assimilate the material you are working on, as well as helping to prevent any physical aches and pains to your body that accompany most repetitive activities.

Attendance

If you cannot attend your lesson please try and let me know as soon as possible. Things come up and it is no problem to reschedule a lesson if you must attend to another work or school matter or due to illness or emergency, of course. Feel free to text, call, or email me, whichever you prefer.

And likewise, I will always try to notify you in advance if a lesson needs to be rescheduled. I am always willing to reschedule your lesson for another day if you or I need to cancel that week for some reason. If I must reschedule your lesson and we cannot find a good time to reschedule it that week, I will offer you a credit. Also, I do not wish to ever charge anyone for a missed lesson, but repeated no shows with no text, call, or email to notify me you will not be attending may result in forfeiting that lesson payment with no makeup lesson being offered.
